Once again the macadamia harvest season will come to a premature end. The past few months of adverse weather conditions including higher than average rainfall, very few days of sunny conditions and extreme winds will make this macadamia harvest one of the worst in a number of years. Quality has not been the best we have heard of number of macadamia properties which have not undertaken their second harvest round. Processing factories are well down on projected tonnage which could mean a better nut in shell price for those able to continue harvesting.
On a favourable note, many customers have made mention that during the difficult harvesting conditions, many Antonio Carraro orchard tractors fitted with harvesters have been plying through which is very encouraging and evident that Antonio Carraro tractors are the obvious choice in macadamia farming.
A new shipment of MEAAT TSAP 240 pulverising orchard mulchers will be arriving very soon in time for this season’s orchard pruning program.
