There seems to be a very positive outlook for the 2012 Macadamia season. Many growers have expressed a pleasing attitude towards this new seasons flowering and in particular the nut set that has resulted. Even though it is still a little early to see what the actual final set will be due to some shedding that will occur, the fact that the rain has been at a minimum over the past 3-4 weeks during this important flowering stage has set the basis for what should be a very good season for 2012.

Macadamia spraying has now commenced in a lot of the orchards in the area. We have undertaken a number of sprayer calibrations over the past month or so and it is becoming evident that many of you are now taking heed of higher flow rates relative to tree canopy volume. This is very important that the correct application of water and chemical rates and spray timing are applied since this will improve the overall outcome for your crop for the 2011 season. We have also noticed that many are taking advantage of the high reach spray cannons that we have been supplying over the past number of months. Antonio Carraro has advised that the new 100 series Ergit range is now covering all models in this range. We are pleased to advise that the new TTR series has now reduced in price in comparison with the districts popular TRX range. The TTR has some very special features that are worth mentioning. Firstly, the axles are cranked to give the tractor more clearance, there is a 4 post ROPS frame with hood and it features electric hydraulic controls. When you compare this tractor to the TRX with electric hydraulic as its main feature, the TTR becomes a very worthwhile tractor to own for macadamia harvesting. New brochures will be available soon.

Due to very busy factory schedules in Italy, Antonio Carraro has advised that delivery timetables are increasing. To date, you can expect a delivery time of up to 12 weeks from placement of order unless the specific tractor you require is available for immediate delivery from the Sydney warehouse. The new Ergit 100 series is proving very popular worldwide and this is the reason for the extension in delivery timetables.

We have available a Superior Soil Profiler for demonstration on your farm. The Profiler has undergone some minor improvements of late. All the new models have a larger capacity output shaft and the base plate is now manufactured out of a single piece Bisalloy plate for greater strength.
