Clean & Economical Strato-Charged™ engine.
Adoption of the innovative stratified scavenging system results in a significant reduction in mixture short-circuiting to about one third that of current 2-cycle engines. The lean combustion further provides a cleaner environment and prevents power output loss.

Operating principle of
Strato-Charged™  engine.
Fresh air, which flows from airhead port, is expelled after burnt gas. Thanks of this, the mixture isn't exhausted and is used effectively for the next combustion.

Strato-Charged™ engine.
Out of consideration for the environment Komatsu Zenoah avoids using a catalyst that generates extra heat to sacrifice engine performance.

Compared to the 4-cycle engine, which is known to produce low exhaust emissions and consume less fuel, the advantages are:

  • Simple construction.
  • Lightweight and high power output.
  • Freely inclinable*
    *Some 4-cycle engines may leak oil if inverted during operation.
The e-START marked product has the mechanisms as shown to the right. Thanks to this, you can easily start the engine of it at once without fail.
The product marked "Light" mounts the engine specially designed for lightweight and high power in the class.

Thanks to the newly developed Super e-START system, we succeeded to reduce the recoil pulling force 1/3 from the previous revel. Also the recoil pulling speed was reduced to half. So you can start the engine even though you pull the starter very slowly.
  • Pull the recoil starter.
  • Assist spring is winded and turns the crank shaft.
  • Piston goes up.
  • Once piston stops because of higher internal compression of combustion chamber...
  • Assist spring is going to be winded until the force of the assist spring is bigger than internal compression of combustion chamber.
  • Once the force of assist spring is bigger than internal compression of combustion chamber...
  • Piston moves over the top dead centre, and then force of Assist spring turns crank shaft strongly.
