Protector - protect the operator when using pesticides.
The Protector cabs offer guarantees and they are the only cabs available on the market at the moment with the following characteristics.
  • safety cells that are air-tight
  • mounted on the platform on Silent Blocks. The TGF has even got suspended pedals and therefore has no contact with the outside.
  • uses active carbon air filters
  • fitted (on request) with an exclusive monitoring system of the pressurised seals and the healthiness of the air inside the cab (Air control)
  • despite its compactness, great internal comfort, optimum visibility on 360° (wheels, ground, equipment) and above the head via the sun roof.

As has occurred on other occasions, Antonio Carraro has broken new ground in terms of how working amongst crops is conceived. They have thought about the operator and his health and they have developed a new concept cab in terms of both shape and contents. Compact streamlined cabs to get between vine shoots and leaves planted in rows without damaging the plants that are also environmentally friendly.
In order to get these results seven years of research, prototypes and tests were necessary. Some said that it's possible to produce such cabs at a lower cost. If they can good luck to them, but bear in mind that those saying this have only copied the cabs' shape and not the special features. Indeed they have omitted to include the airtight seals, the pressurisation (confusing it with air conditioning) and the certified air control systems. The Antonio Carraro cabs have all of these requisites while the others don't. The "Protectors" really protect and the others don't.
These are not unimportant features. The health and indeed the life of the operators is at stake.
Pesticides and insecticides pose a serious health risk to those handling them especially during the preparation and distribution phases. Professional operators have still got to learn how to protect themselves in order to limit not only intoxication but also the development of possibly fatal diseases to a minimum. The legislation (which does exist) is often taken lightly and furthermore there are no accurate statistics regarding the subject. Professor Ettore Capri from the Chemical and Environmental Agrarian Institute of Piacenza has carried out, along with other European colleagues, research with surprising and quite alarming results in Lombardia they have begun a systematic monitoring programme and the data collected on the following three principle activities with a risk of exposure is analysed:

  • mixing and loading of insecticides
  • application
  • re-entry in to the field after application

For each one of these the elements which most influence the extent of exposure to the operator have been identified. There are grave certainties: working with insecticides without taking the necessary precautions (overalls, gloves, glasses, helmet etc which are still insufficient) causes diseases, minor and major levels of intoxication (skin, lungs), provokes serious and fatal illnesses and tumours.
The tests results for the Protector cabs have surpassed the required standard and this means that the operator is safe to breathe the clean air within the cab. Other comparative tests will soon be carried out by Antonio Carraro's Centre for Study and Research and we will keep our readers posted on their outcome.

AIRCONTROL
The "Air control'' pressurisation system that is available on request, guarantees the perfect functioning of the pressurisation, A liquid crystal display (see photo above) keeps the operator constantly informed on the systems state of efficiency; it warns the operator to wait until the inside is perfectly pressurised (a few seconds) before starting off it indicates the hours of use and the time: left on the active carbon filters; it shows the values of the internal pressure level which must not drop below the second level in order to guarantee the isolation of the cab from external agents.

TGF,the agriculturalists favourite
In 2003 theTGF was the biggest selling tractor of the Ergit Series. It is powerful, has a wide range of uses and is perfect for ploughing ground with stones on it, for maintenance in vineyards and orchards. For working on steep slopes and for carrying out routine farm tasks. It's "super-low" profile is streamlined and this affords it excellent penetration into narrow rowed crops or amongst leafy fruit trees trees without causing any damage to the crops or to its bodywork The TGF can be employed with a vast range of tyre combinations (16) which is also thanks to the possibility it has to modify the height of the rear mudguards leading to the ability of fitting 24 inch wheels on the rear and 20 inch wheels on the front. The gearbox and the inverter are synchronised and the gearbox has 32 speeds (16 forward and 16 reverse); on request the TGF can be fitted with the HI/LO device with electro hydraulic engagement. In accordance with the ECE R24 legislation the 83 HP, 4 cylinder turbo, direct injection engine is powerful with a water cooling system. Furthermore it is quiet and extremely environmentally friendly. The 60 litre tank capacity allows a high degree of operational autonomy. It is homologated for road speeds of up to 40 Km/h and the brakes have oil bath disks on all four wheels and do not suffer from wear and tear and do not need to be adjusted.
